St Maximilian Kolbe

In Room 6 we did a slide show about St Maximilian Kolbe's life, overall I found out that he was an amazing guy, and a great role model to anyone. I learnt some very interesting facts about his life.

What I did well : I did well at putting in some of St Maximilian Kolbe.
What I enjoyed : I really enjoyed learning about what a great person St Maximilian Kolbe was and how he lived his life.
What I need to work on : I need to work on having some more information about St Maximilian Kolbe.

Maria Folau

In Room 6 we are doing activities on the Commonwealth Games, and one of them was to write about an athlete that will be competing in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. I choose Maria Folau, because she is an amazing netball player, and I really wanted to learn more about her and her life growing up and how she became a netball player.

What I did well : I did well by adding information in about her family life.
What I enjoyed : I enjoyed finding out about Maria's life.
What I need to work on : I need to work on adding in some photos.

Maria Folau



Maria Folau was born in Tokoroa, on the 18th of February 1987, she is from New Zealand. Maria plays netball she can play GA (goal attack) as well as GS (goal shooter), she is in the New Zealand team Silver Ferns.

Her parents names are  Niukini Tutaia, Fuisami Tutaia, and she has 6 siblings, Rosa Tutaia, Tyson Tutaia, Masalosalo Tutaia, Salo Tutaia, Viona Tutaia, Loterina Tutaia. Maria grew up in New Zealand with her family.

Marai first started in the under 21 netball team that got the Miami Youth Cup in 2005, that year was the year she got called into the Silver Ferns team.

Now in 2018 all her hard work of playing netball and never giving up payed off because now she plays in the 2018 Silver Ferns at the Commonwealth Games.

Netball

In Literacy we have been doing a series of activities about the 2018 Commonwealth games. For this particular activity we had to choose a sport that will be played at the Commonwealth Games, I choose netball because it is my favourite sport, we had to write the rules, possessions, and add in some photos. 

What I did well : I did well by researching the rules.
What I enjoyed : I enjoyed learning about the rules of netball.
What I need to work on : I need to work on making my work more interesting.

In literacy we had to describe the 4 core values of the Commonwealth Games.

What I did well : I did well by summering my information.
What I enjoyed : I enjoyed learning about the Values.
What I need to work on : I need to work on adding pictures.

Timeline of the Commonwealth Games

The Queens Baton

What I did well : I did well by adding in a thinglink of the Queens Baton.
What I enjoyed : I enjoyed drawing the Queens Baton.
What I need to work on : I need to add more detail and more information about the Queens Baton.



Queen’s Baton Relay

Queen Elizabeth Baton Relay is a game tradition that celebrates the Commonwealth Games. This inspires community


pride and excites people about the world class festival of sports and cultures to come. In this event the Queen Batons carries a

special message all over the world, that calls all athletes come together in peace. This year in 2018 Gold Coast this will be the longest relay.


Borobi The Blue Koala

What I did well : I did well by drawing Borobi the mascot myself.
What I enjoyed : I enjoyed learning about the Commonwealth Games mascot for 2018.
What I need to work on : I need to work on getting my work done faster.

Anzac Day Diamante Poem

What I did well : I think I did well at describing how the Anzac Veterans felt, and what they were fighting for.
