Ballad Back to Reality

In Room 6 we had to read a ballad about Ben Hall, and the following day we had to do a padlet about ballads. After that our task was to write a ballad of our own, it could of been about anything we wanted. First we had to do some planning for our ballad. For me it was really hard to decide what I was going to do my ballad about. I had so many ideas but I kept on changing my topic. Finally I chose one, I hope I did a good job, and did not go off track. For my rhythm mine was AABBCC we had pick a rhythm because its a ballad.

Back to Reality

Blake was a normal kid, who never slept and was always awake,
He felt an ache,
He was playing cricket
When he found a ticket,
Blake wished he would win all lot,
And go to his favourite shop,

Later that day he realised he had won he flew up in the sky, with happiness he shaked,
To celebrate he had a chocolate cake,
His life was as sweet as a biscuit,
Blake felt proud because everyone said he would never have any money and make it,
The leaves dances in the wind as he screamed “I hit the jackpot” !
Straight away he bought a robot,

All the money he bought a prodigious 10 million dollar house and everyone was amazed,
But then Blake felt a strong headache,
It was as fast as a cheetah running for its pray because in less than a minute,
He felt sad because he had no money, he missed it,
Blake thought of his good old simple life as he walked through the parking lot,
He did not even like all of his fancy coats,

It felt funny the Earth started to shake it was an Earthquake,
But then Blake realised he was in his bed, when he heard his mum yell out “Blake”
There was no more happy spirit,
But at least Blake still had his favourite sport and his special trumpet,
Blake was thankful because he still had his bed his special spot,
Also his cute pet Goat,

Blake went to the lounge and smelled buttermilk pancakes,
Then it all came back to him he felt the same good old Blake,
He was overjoyed because all he needed was his family, and he didn't miss a thing,
He was back to reality and the alarm clock started to ring,
So he rested in and turned off the clock,
As he lay down he thought my dream had an awesome plot,

Angles D.L.O

In Room 6, lately we have been learning about angles in maths, what they are, how to measure them, and the types of angles. Our task was to watch videos about angles, do 4 worksheets about measuring angles, read through a slideshow about angles, and then show our learning by making a D.L.O. We were meant to finish it in 2 weeks but we had to  extend the time limit.

What I enjoyed : Showing my learning in a D.L.O.
What I need to work on : Having more information about angles.
What I did well : Creativity.

Albert

Last Term In Room 6 every day we read a book called Fish In a Tree. Our task was to choose a character from the book and make a character description about them. I choose the character Albert because he is funny but smart at the same time, also because he is a very loyal person to his friends.

What I need to work on: Making my drawings look more detailed.
What I enjoyed : Drawing Albert.
What I did well : Having lot's of information.

Ben Hall Wanted Poster

In Room 6 in writing we read a Ballard poem about Ben Hall on the run from police who were trying to hunt him because he committed an armed robbery. Our task was to read the poem, draw a story map in our books, and then make a wanted poster.

What I enjoyed : I enjoyed learning about Ben Hall.
What I need to work on : I need to work on adding more information.
What I did well : I made a unique poster.

Family Fun

In Room 6 our instructions were to write a recount about our Holidays, and have some interesting vocabulary. I hope that I have followed the task, and have the correct structure.
What I did well : I think I did well by using some interesting vocabulary in my recount.
What I need to work on : I need to work on having a more original title which hooks you in.
What I enjoyed : I enjoyed learning some new words.

Family Fun

In the Easter Holidays all I did was lay in bed until like 11am in the morning, watch TV, play games and eat food, I did not do anything fun or interesting until Friday in the second week, when I went to spend my money at Riccarton mall.

On the first week of the holidays I watched a lot of Netflix shows and I did some extra housework to get $50 dollars. My chores I had to do were very hard but it was all worth it at the end.

In the second week of the Holidays I went to Riccarton Mall  with my mum to spend my money at about 10am. When I arrived the mall was really full and extremely clamorous, I sometimes hate shopping because it always an aggravation. When I was at Kmart the line was so long it took us about 10 minutes for it to be finally our turn to be at the front of the line. All I bought was art supplies, I only spent $20 dollars because I wanted to put the rest in my savings. Even tho I’m not great at drawing I want to learn to be a better drawer. Then after I shopped we sprinted out the shop as fast as a Cheetah running in the wild. Straight when I got home the first thing I did was practice some drawing.

Later that day at about 4.30pm me and my family went to Hoyts Riccarton to watch a movie, my mum picked the movie which was Peter Rabbit, I wanted to watch another movie at first but the movie turned out great and really interesting. For food we just bought popcorn and drinks.

To describe my Holiday in one word it would be enjoyable, because I spent most of the Holidays relaxing. One day working very hard, and shopping. I really appreciate spending  time with my loved ones. I will defiantly remember this amazing experience.
