Show not tell

WALT : Use show not tell
In Room 6 we have been writing to infer for show not tell for the past two weeks of Term 4. I really enjoyed getting to pick a feeling for show not tell because we all got to choose a feeling because there all not the same. Next time I could add more descriptive words and some better language features. What feeling did you infer from my text?

My mind was full of panic, I was very stressed. I had my speech ready to say to the whole school at assembly, while the sweat on my palms and it was as if the seconds before my speech were like waiting hours.  When the Principal called my name, everyone could smell the sweat from my nerves. I stepped up to the stage in front of the whole school while shaking, because everyone could see the pain I was feeling while saying that speech. As I said my speech about how the school impacted in my life, although I was stuttering and you could barely hear a word I said.  After the speech I could feel my nerves fade away, even though the speech wasn’t good at least it was done with and over.

  1. Hi Mikaela! I loved your piece of writing, were you inferring something or implying? my inference is maybe your implying that your nervous? I enjoyed reading your writing it really hooked my in. Your Vocabulary was great but you could use a different word for 'because'. Keep up the great work Mikaela!
